Implant-supported bridges

Multiple Dental Implants in Crowborough

If you are missing several teeth, they can often be replaced with an implant-supported bridge at Crowborough Dental Implant Centre.

Many patients and clinicians prefer implants over a conventional bridge or removable partial denture because they offer long-term comfort and chewing function.

What are the advantages of an implant-supported bridge?

  • Look and feel like your natural teeth
  • Comfortable, reliable chewing function
  • Helps keep bone intact

Why an implant bridge can beat a conventional bridge

Implants can replace several teeth without relying on neighbouring teeth. A conventional bridge is cemented to adjacent teeth, which means removing healthy tooth structure.

An implant-supported bridge replaces missing teeth and some of the roots, giving stability for chewing and helping to preserve the jawbone and facial structure. Gums and bone tend to recede under a conventional bridge or partial denture over time.

There's no denture to secure or worry about coming loose when you eat or talk. You clean them much like natural teeth and, for most patients, return to eating a wide range of foods.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Implants can suit adults of most ages. If you're healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, implant treatment may be possible — sometimes immediately after extraction.

Some health conditions, medications and smoking can lower success rates. Your dentist will assess you at consultation and use a 3D scan to check bone levels; where bone is reduced, bone grafting may be recommended.
